Trevor LaBonte (right) with fellow jazz pro Gilad Atzmon

Professional jazz musician Trevor LaBonte has been hounded, boycotted, and denied the ability to make a living. Why? Certain powerful groups don’t like his opinions on the source of the problem in Occupied Palestine. While I don’t fully agree with Trevor, I find his arguments more reasonable than 95% of what the mainstream media and even the academy puts out on this topic.

Boycotting people and destroying their careers seems to be a Zionist specialty. In this interview we discuss Gareth Porter’s Zionist-style boycott that prevented Mark Glenn from participating in the Tehran Resistance Conference last month. (Trevor wrote a very lively article entitled The Book of Gareth: Why Persians Should Never Sleep With Jewish Whores.) We also discuss the Trevor’s friend Gilad Atzmon‘s views on Jewish identity politics, and whether the real source of the “chosenness” and “Esther” problems Gilad analyzes is religion (Trevor) or post-religious nationalism (yours truly).
